You seem to be trapped in a world, filled with magic. You have lost your memory of how you got here, but you have a strange feeling things might get very bad, very quickly.

After several months of development, I can proudly release: Punimals: Revolution. The first part of “The Unstable Update” (more on this below).
Punimals: Revolution is a total remake of the Original Punimals, which I released around a year ago now, for those who have not played Punimals yet, here is a short description:
Punimals is a roguelike dungeon crawler in which you fight enemies which are all based around animals and puns. The game features 175+ unique items, 20+ unique enemies, 12 bosses, 4 enviroments, 7 challenges and tons of unlockables. It’s quite “Binding of Isaac”-esque

You can watch the trailer right here
And you can download it here on GameJolt.

About The Unstable Update
Disclaimer: this part is purely informational, it does not contain anything having to do with the current state of the game.
Disclaimer: as of 14/01/17 (the European way of writing dates), this project has been put on halt.
The Unstable Update is the name I have given to the grand project of finally fully finishing of Punimals (I have big plans for it) and will be released in five parts:

    • Punimals: Revolution which is just a remake of the original Punimals

    • The Diary Update which will add game-lore, as well as vastly expanding upon the storyline

    • The Multiplayer Update which will add multiplayer support.

    • Punimals: Unstable Edition which will be the final hand to the story and will put an end to the game

    • Punimals: Post-Instabiliy which will be smaller, monthly updates which only bring new content that will not influence the story or unlocks at all.

But that’s about it for Punimals. As always, if you’d find any bugs, please let me know!
Thank you for your attention, and may The Instability be in your favour…

Hey Snowy! I played through your game a bit (granted it was like 10 lives because I die a lot lol), but I am really interested by it. I know the gameplay isn’t complete yet, and I haven’t played it to an extreme extent, but I love the amount of items, enemies, and bosses. I really liked the Dobird boss fight too. I liked that it wasn’t just one ability or just a giant damage dealing enemy. It felt diverse and fun to play. I liked the different enemy interactions too, like the disappearing electric bat thing and the penguin. You use unique a lot in your description, and that’s exactly what it feels like.

For bugs and such, I felt like a lot of the collider interactions were buggy. Enemies pushed me weird if I stood still and running into objects made a weird jiggly effect. If you can smooth that out a bit, that would be great. Also, my game crashed several times through playing. When I pressed “r” a few times, which I guess is restart, it would crash. One time when I went through the portal to a new area it also crashed.

Overall the Unstable Update is shaping up to be great! Good luck with the rest of the update!

PS: Having a short tutorial/control mapping would be nice. I’ve never played Binding of Isaac before so I was a little lost to start (Lol didn’t realize arrow keys were to shoot that quickly)

PPS: Unfortunately didn’t get to encounter the bed bug. Guess I’ll have to play some more 🙂

Thanks for playing! I hope you enjoyed despite all the bugs :/

I do know of the crashes and I am currently searching what exactly is causing it. But I feel like I’m coming close to getting it at least to a minimum.
As for the control mapping, the first room you enter in a run now (after I update it) has the controls written on the ground, like the Original had.
And lastly, the Bed Bugs are unfortunately not yet implemented.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

Snowy after your comment on HunGARE I have one question… How freaking many updates are you planning?!

Well eh… Three more mayor updates over the course of one (and a half) years and then 12 minor updates each month (Ha! Like I’ll reach that deadline), if you’re talking content-wise. Patching and balancing updates are inevitable between updates. (I mean, the game isn’t any better than Original at this moment purely due to the crashes and I fear it might be just a slight bit too difficult at this moment).
