Model some old torture machines. ? that will add a somber element to your level. Walk into a mysterious room, filled with creepy torture devices. (Shiver…)

No problem. Whenever somebody has a question about anything, just answer “Torture machines”, and they will have a brighter tomorrow. 😉

Ideas:

  • Trap doors.
  • Door frames.
  • Furnishings (table, chairs, beds (maybe decaying)).
  • Torture devices.
  • Ladders.
  • Support beams (run along roof).
  • Pillars.
  • Sewer grates.
  • Pipes (depending on how advanced creator would be).
  • Chests.
  • Barrels.

that would depend on the type of dungeon (is it one used for storing loot ,for holding prisoners ,is it used to hold back a demon or monster or is it just a refuge in the event of an emergency) that is what you have to ask yourself, then think of what wold be NEEDED in said scenario, after which you would think of how the player would interact with it and what they would gain from it ,your next step is to research what other artists have done (pintrest is useful for this ) use this for inspiration but don’t strait out copy it MAKE IT YOURS add your own flair to it, it would also help to have a sense of what your level looks like get some model making materials and some glue and make a physical model of it or draw it on paper and hang it up near your work space all of the above would greatly help you here .

p.s sorry if that’s a lot to take in its just my nature to thoroughly answer a question.

@10chaos1
Well i’m thinking about medieval dungeon/prison where inquisition interrogates heretics and made a list what i will have to model:

  • Wall
  • Corner wall
  • Pillars
  • Stairs
  • Gate
  • Cages
  • Enter
  • Exit
  • Torches
  • Braziers
  • Torture devices
  • Furniture

I added few things from Garakh list ( thanks for ideas ) now i’m starting to model those objects 🙂
