Hey everyone! 🙂 I want to show you my game I am currently working on. The game is a first person, open world survival game with the name Lost on the Island. I know that there are many of this games but I would still show you mine. You are stranded on the island and must try to survive. At beginning you have only the things you find in the lifeboat, so you need to explore the island to find more items.

At the moment there is:

    • Randomly placed objects at the terrain
    • GUI bars (health,hunger)
    • Trees you can cut down
    • Placing objects (wooden walls, camp-fire,…)
    • Inventory (in working)
    • Crafting System (in working)
    • Enemies (at the moment only a big spider)
    • Main Menu
    • Custom Launcher

If you have any suggestions please tell me. I would be very happy 🙂 .

Looks nice!
But you’re on a somewhat tropical island… wouldn’t it make sense to set the intensity of the directional light a bit higher and make it more orange-ish?

Yes thats a nice idea thanks. I will try it. 🙂

Looking good! The art looks very nice from what I can see. I do agree with Dion, orange lighting would look good on the island. I don’t know if you have a day and night cycle yet, but for me that is something I like to see in a 3-d game. I can see that you are working really hard, so you don’t need to add it just because I requested it. You do what you want to do, and I think it will be great. Best of Luck!

Wow Fabi, nice game man, can’t wait to play it one day. ^^ 😀

Right now it doesn’t matter how the sky looks, that is secondary 😀 try to focus on the gameplay, that way you can deliver a great game.
Good luck with everything. 🙂

Thanks Spang! 🙂 At the moment my focus is at the gameplay. The graphics i will make at the end because i am not so good at it 🙂

Looking good Fabi!
My suggestion would be to check out a color wheel and learn a bit about color theory and then apply that to your graphics( in regards to the sky and grass color)

Try adding some shaders (I think that’s what they’re called)
Basically, Unity Pro has Camera effects which look REALLY nice, such as bloom.

Thanks Ansity, thats a good idea but i use Unity Free so i cant use image effects.

Great game Looks good.
if you need (“cutable” trees or GUI bars’ or the forest like inventory, basebuilding) scripts i can help
i already made a game like this and i still have the project files.

My Advices:
1- needs some dark colors to make it seem dark and a little scary.
2- use photon.
3- Listen to the positive feedbacks.

Also listen to the constructive negative feedback. Most of the times it’s better to know what you do wrong than to know what you already do good.

U could just add a rotation animation to the directional light and making it really slow.

Yes this is part of the day-night cycle. I will add this later but thanks for this Azhar Jeetun 🙂

What do you think about the launcher design?

Guru

Looks good. It fits the theme very well, it’s a bit dull and simple, though.
Also I think there’s room for an audio and mouse sensitivity slider.

If you’re releasing for pc/mac/linux then those players would probably want more graphics options. (At least, that’s what I would want…)

Overall, A pretty good start!

Yes thats a good idea. I will add functions for the audio and mouse sensitivity later. I know that the design is simple but iam not so good at design. Thanks Dion Doktor for your feedback 🙂

It looks realy good. But u could try using more colors like green and orange.Green for the buttons and orange for the X-Boxes
BTW Putting the low GFX settings does not sound quite well. U can change it to “Fast”.

Okay thanks Azhar Jeetun 🙂 I will change these things.

Two questions: Are you working in a team or alone? And will there be a version we can play soon(ish)?

Wise

I am working alone at this game. Sorry at the moment there is no version you can play but i am working on it.
