i just had a quick idea. (and a small question afterwards)
wouldn’t it be nice to see all currently active users? (all online users currently logged in)
by doing this we can ask small (thread unworthy) questions to eachother. When something intresting is asked the users can post this in the resources section.
now the question
is BrackeysTV still live?
if so, link on the frontpage! w/ updating stream hours! Please!

I think this question has been asked a lot recently. I do agree in the sense that it’d be useful, but I don’t really know if it’d be useful enough (if that even makes sense?). A live-chat system would work for asking quick question, but then again, that’s why we have a forum. And let’s be honest, there are a lot of people out there who’ll abuse the chat system.
As for BrackeysTV, with me having no school the couple months I will try and stream weekly again (though I’ll break that promise after next week due to me travelling to France for a week), but we have a seperate thread for it, which gets updated with each stream (I’m pretty sure) – by which I don’t want to say it wouldn’t be convenient to have something like that.

also, for that thread, where is it? i cant find it! see? thats what i mean. Noone finds out that there is a livestream!

ow lord and saviour DION please! PLEASE! edit the forum so we can see a stream schedule being updated and all.
i (and probably others too) would find it very helpfull to see all times when someone is about to stream. lets say… underneath the CATAGORIES section? just a list of all coming and ongoing streams.
also some system where we can create this stream announcement, maybe only let certain people stream? (other tag?)
it would be handy to have this so people just klick on that link that says something like “Unity Multiplayer scripting livestream starting today 4PM GMT+4” i dunno.
its just faster the find and it attracts more people to watch, wich gives the streamer also more confidence and fun. It gives “reason to stream”
but anyways, JUST and idea! 😀
This is an awesome idea!
But…
1. I’m not a webdev. I don’t know how to build such a thing.
2. As far as I know, the way the forum is set up doesn’t allow such big changes.
3. Server budget is limited. A live-chat and auto-stream-anouncement-thingy function is kinda expensive on the cpu and data.
So yeah… Definitely something to keep in mind if/when the forum gets an upgrade.
Wise
1. okay but maybe Brackeys can fix it? i dunno tbh. did he make the site? i believe he did.
2. php servers? this should be dynamic as hell! (i’ll go in inspector mode and fool around too from now on.)
3. the auto update isn’t required. okay the chat is hard BUT the auto-stream-announcer can be done by having a “reply” on a “discussion” where veryone automaticly is part from.
like when someone replies to your thread, you get notified. this can be done for streams too via the same system. some special image that cleary stands out? other color? cant be that hard.
php should be easy to modify, and in the worst case, add a catagory. i’ll try and figure something out so it stands out from the other catagories. that isnt that hard.
